Hi, I'm Tina
A qualified sommelier who spills wine secrets, and occasionally some of the wine itself.
I often hear people say, "I love wine.. but I don't really know much about it." As if they feel like one needs to know everything about wine to have an opinion on it.
Here's a secret: once you get curious about wine and start exploring unusual styles, small producers and lesser-known regions, you'll quickly realise that nobody knows everything about wine. And if they pretend otherwise, they're lying!
That's why I created The Clumsy Sommelier. I want to take the pretentiousness out of wine tastings and encourage people to be curious, try something different and have the confidence to say what they really think. There are no silly questions, no wrong opinions and definitely no judgement. We all experience wine differently, and that's exactly how it should be.
For me, the best wine isn't the most expensive bottle or the one with the highest score. It's the one you enjoy in that particular moment, with the people you're sharing it with.
